The 2011-12 Test Specifications and Blueprints for OAKS Mathematics, Reading, Science, and Social Sciences are currently available at http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=496. These documents contain sample items, achievement level descriptors and achievement standards, as well as most everything you might want to know about the Oregon Content Standards and the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills.
Teachers and district staff use the Test Specifications and Blueprints in a variety of ways.- Content coverage and weighting on the state assessments (Test Blueprints, Content Coverage and Weighting).
- Augment lesson plans with allowable resources so that students are prepared to use these resources – periodic table, calculators, writing organizer – during the state assessment (Appendices).
- Prepare students for testing (Item Maps including such as (by Content Standard) Sample Items, Explanations, Assessable Academic Vocabulary, Boundaries of Assessable Content, and Connections from Previous Grades).
